Keep your game tab open. This guide does not load the game; return to your original tab to continue your run.

01 / MAKE YOURSELF SMALL

Start with a little patience.

Open the game page, press Play You Are Hamster, and follow the loading bar inside the game. The main data file is approximately 155 MB, with additional files to download. A first visit can take a while; a stable connection helps.

The website saying “Game window opened” means the embedded document opened. The game’s own screen shows whether its download has finished.

02 / SMALL PAWS, SIMPLE INPUTS

Use a keyboard and mouse.

Click inside the game before trying to move. Read the current on-screen instruction; the action available depends on the scene.

W A S D

Mouse
Look around after focusing the game.

Jump, or follow the displayed prompt.

Interact when the game prompts you.

03 / YOUR FIRST STEPS

Explore, then follow the next prompt.

Our desktop browser check reached the opening Explore objective, then the Eat food stage. Movement and contact with room objects were observed. Look around from the hamster’s low viewpoint and use the instruction on your own screen to decide what to do next.

This is an opening-sequence check, rather than a completed walkthrough. We have not verified every later objective or ending, so this guide leaves those discoveries to your run.

04 / BEFORE TOUCH PLAY

Give the room some space.

The supplied browser build includes touch controls. Turn your phone sideways before pressing Play; use its on-screen movement, look and action controls. A complete phone playthrough has not been verified here. For the most thoroughly checked starting setup, use desktop keyboard and mouse.

Resizing an active Unity canvas can cause display problems. Set your preferred orientation and window size before starting.

05 / WHEN SOMETHING STALLS

Check progress, then check focus.

If the in-game bar is moving, let it continue. Repeatedly restarting can interrupt a large download. If it stops for a long time, check your connection and try an updated WebGL-capable browser.

If the room is visible but movement does nothing, click inside it or use Focus game below the player. Website controls and the embedded game have separate keyboard focus.

06 / KEEP YOUR RUN

Recording is optional. Restarting matters.

The game has an optional recording step with a Skip option. Use Skip if you do not want microphone access. The surrounding website does not need your microphone to display this guide.

The developer describes the original game as having no save or pause feature. Restart reloads the embedded game; Close unloads it. Leaving, closing or reloading the game tab can lose your progress, so settle in before you start.
